CBS11 reporter and substitute anchor Beth Wagner is leaving the station to anchor early evening and late night newscasts at ABC affiliate WKOW-TV in Madison, WI.
Her last day at CBS11 will be Jan. 23rd.
News director Scott Diener's memo to staffers calls her an "extraordinary contributor. We'll miss her enthusiasm, smile and great laugh. It's like having a friendly clown around!"
Wagner's husband is a Wisconsin native, which she lamented during a live Nov. 29th report on that night's Cowboys-Packers game at Texas Stadium.
"I'm married to a cheesehead, and it's very sad," she said with a smile while wearing a No. 81 Terrell Owens Cowboys jersey. "I called my pastor, and said we may need a divorce counselor."
Video of that report is still on the Web, and of course subject to replay by Wagner's new employer. But maybe they'll show mercy.
