ABC's prime-time lineup continued to hum in D-FW, with Wednesday's premiere of Pushing Daisies providing a strong leadoff hitter.
Daisies drew 207,026 total homes from 7 to 8 p.m., outpointing all competing attractions. The fanciful "forensic fairytale" also topped the field among advertiser-craved 18-to-49-year-olds, as did ABC's following Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money.
CBS' older-skewing CSI: NY won in total homes at 9 p.m., though, providing CBS11's 10 p.m. newscast with another substantial lead-in advantage. The station slipped to second place anyway, well behind top dog Belo8. NBC5 and Fox4 ran close behind CBS11.
Belo8 also took the 10 p.m. battle among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming. CBS11 slid to fourth in that key measurement, with Belo8 lapping up a stronger lead-in from the 9 p.m. Dirty Sexy.
Fox4 again ruled the 6 a.m. ratings, running comfortably ahead of second-place Belo8 in both ratings measurements. The station's 7 to 9 a.m. portion of Good Day also had bigger audiences than the three competing network morning shows.
Belo8 countered with solid across-the-board wins at 5 and 6 p.m.
