Cable didn't entirely steal the show from the Big Four broadcast networks Monday night. But TNT and ESPN took some good swings.
The 9 p.m. premiere of TNT's Rizzoli & Isles crime series, co-starring Dallas native Angie Harmon, drew a respectable 142,512 D-FW viewers in beating competition from NBC's Dateline and Fox4's local newscast. And an 8 p.m. new episode of TNT's The Closer had 115,367 viewers, outpointing Fox's Dallas-made The Good Guys and NBC's Last Comic Standing.
On ESPN, the annual pre-All Star game home run derby averaged 135,726 viewers from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
ABC's latest two-hour chunk of The Bachelorette as usual was Monday's top draw, with 264,666 viewers from 7 to 9 p.m. Bachelorette also dominated with advertiser-craved 18-to-49-year-olds, more than doubling the haul of its closest competitor, CBS' Two and a Half Men rerun.
In local news derby results, WFAA8 topped the 10 p.m. Nielsens in total viewers while NBC5 again won among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming on most stations.
The Peacock also ran first at 6 a.m. in total viewers, but shared the gold with Fox4 in the 25-to-54 demographic.
CBS11 won at 6 p.m. in total viewers, with Fox4 on top with 25-to-54-year-olds. NBC5 ran the table at 5 p.m.
