Local Nielsen ratings snapshot (Tues., July 28) -- Talent rises way to the top

NBC's summertime locomotive, America's Got Talent, steamed to its most impressive showing yet Tuesday night.
The show's first "Vegas Verdicts" edition amassed 345,436 D-FW viewers in the 8 p.m. hour, easily besting the combined audience of competing network programs. That included the premiere of Fox's More to Love, which ran second with a comparatively piddling 86,359 viewers.
Talent likewise ruled with advertiser-favored 18-to-49-year-olds, drawing 142,613 compared to runnerup More to Love's 61,583.
NBC's 7 p.m. Talent repeat also topped the 18-to-49 Nielsens, but CBS' NCIS rerun had more total viewers. At 9 p.m. ABC's Bachelorette post mortem had the most viewers in both ratings measurements.
In local news derby results, WFAA8 topped the field at 10 p.m. in both total viewers and 25-to-54-year-olds, the preferred advertiser target audience for news programming.
NBC5 again had twin wins at 6 a.m. while also sweeping the 5 p.m. ratings.
The 6 p.m. golds went to WFAA8 in total viewers and Fox4 among 25-to-54-year-olds.
