Dance, sing and zing go the ratings.
The first hour of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance won at 7 p.m. Wednesday in both total D-FW viewers and advertiser-coveted 18-to-49-year-olds. Asterisk: It stomped a batch of repeats on ABC, CBS and NBC.
The Peacock's America's Got Talent then took over as usual at 8 p.m., drawing the entire day's biggest crowd (237,521 viewers) while holding off the second hour of Dance among 18-to-49-year-olds.
The 9 p.m. hour went to Fox4's local newscast, which won handily in total viewers and nipped NBC's Law & Order: SVU repeat in the 18-to-49 demographic.
On Fox Sports Southwest, the Texas Rangers' Vladimir Guerrero-powered late night road win against the Angels again had a respectable score of 149,299 total viewers despite ending after midnight.
In local news derby results, NBC5 continued to make noise in all four competitions.
WFAA8 had a narrow edge over the Peacock in the 10 p.m. total viewer Nielsens, but NBC5 cruised with 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming on most stations.
A pair of 6 a.m. wins again went into the NBC5 scorebook. And at 5 p.m., the station won in total viewers and tied Fox4 for first place among 25-to-54-year-olds.
WFAA8 had the 6 p.m. win in total viewers, with NBC5 again the newscast of choice in the 25-to-54 demographic.
