June burst out all over Tuesday night with two-hour season premieres of NBC's America's Got Talent and ABC's Wipeout.
The Peacock prevailed in their 7 to 9 p.m. faceoff, with Talent averaging 278,238 D-FW viewers while Wipeout's recurring images of contestants plopping from big balls into brown yuck attracted 217,162.
A new 8 p.m. episode of Fox's Glee tied the second hour of Wipeout, with each show totaling 210,375 viewers.
Talent also won among advertiser-coveted 18-to-49-year-olds; Fox's Hell's Kitchen and Glee took the silver ahead of Wipeout. CBS ran fourth in this key demographic with reruns of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
It was a split decision at 9 p.m., where a "Superhumans" edition of ABC's 20/20 won in total viewers but ran well behind NBC's first-place premiere of Losing it with Jillian in the 18-to-49 age range.
All four major local TV news providers had a winning edge somewhere Tuesday.
WFAA8 enjoyed a comfortable first-place finish in the 10 p.m. total viewer Nielsens but was swamped by NBC5 among 25-to-54-year-olds, the main advertiser target audience for news programming.
Fox4 and the Peacock shared the 6 a.m. gold in total viewers, with Fox4 taking the top spot with 25-to-54-year-olds.
CBS11 ran first at 6 p.m. in total viewers and added a 5 p.m. gold in the 25-to-54 demographic.
NBC5 topped the 5 p.m. ratings in total viewers while Fox4 dominated the 6 p.m. field among 25-to-54-year-olds.
