D-FW viewer totals were deflated Tuesday night, particularly for Fox's rapidly declining Glee.
The once red-hot high school sing-along hit a series low note for this season with just 60,967 viewers in the 7 p.m. hour. That put it behind even NBC's first hour of The Biggest Loser, although Glee inched up to a third-place finish with advertiser-craved 18-to-49-year-olds.
Fox's following New Girl also slumped, running fourth in total viewers with only 94,837 while placing an uncommon second to ABC's Dancing with the Stars among 18-to-49-year-olds. Then again, DWTS is in the closing stages of its latest edition, which perks interest a bit.
Tuesday's top overall draw again was CBS' NCIS. But even its 372,576 viewers were a significant drop from last week's 487,735. CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles and DWTS tied for first in total viewers at 8 p.m., with CBS' Unforgettable edging ABC's Body of Proof for the top spot at 9 p.m. DWTS and Proof were the time slot winners with 18-to-49-year-olds.
In local news derby results, WFAA8 nipped CBS11 for first place at 10 p.m. in total viewers but won comfortably among 25-to-54-year-olds (main advertiser target audience for news programming) while CBS11 slid to fourth.
NBC5 edged Fox4 for the 6 a.m. gold in total viewers, with those positions reversed in the 25-to-54 demographic (where NBC5 and WFAA8 tied for second).
CBS11 notched a 6 p.m. win in total viewers. The spoils otherwise went to Fox4, which ran first with 25-to-54-year-olds at 6 p.m. and swept the 5 p.m. competitions.
