Coming soon to Fox4 -- The Huckabee Show, starring former Republican presidential candidate and Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.
The Dallas-based, Fox-owned station confirmed Thursday that the show will get a six-week trial run at 1 p.m. weekdays, starting July 26th. Huckabee, who has a weekend program on Fox News Channel, also will get some exposure on a handful of other Fox-owned stations around the country.
Fox similarly tested The Wendy Williams Show on Fox4 and other stations before green-lighting it for national distribution. It currently airs at 10 a.m. weekdays on Fox4. The Huckabee Show will at least temporarily be displacing Judge Jeanine Pirro on Fox4.
***Dallas-based WFAA8 will scrap ABC programming on Saturday, July 3rd to televise the Major League Soccer game between FC Dallas and the Kansas City Wizards.
Game time is 7:30 p.m., with a preceding half-hour warmup show anchored by the station's Joe Trahan. WFAA8 also will televise the closing fireworks show from Frisco's Pizza Hut Park, with weathercaster Pete Delkus presiding. The tentative start time is 9:40 p.m.
"We are excited to be part of this special night of local programming," WFAA8 president and general manager Mike Devlin said in a publicity release.
WFAA8 will be preempting repeats of America's Funniest Home Videos and The Forgotten plus a new 9 p.m. episode of The Forgotten, which has been canceled.
