Matt Lauer's out (as is Garrison Keillor), so there's again much to write about

Matt Lauer, who has anchored NBC’s Today for two decades, is the latest and biggest star to be ousted after charges of “inappropriate sexual behavior” in the workplace. Tangentially, Garrison Keillor has been dumped by Minnesota Public Radio under the same umbrella, but he has quite a bit to say about that. Texas-made The Long Road Home gives National Geographic channel a major player

It will have been hard to miss a promotion or two or 20 for the National Geographic channel’s most ambitious scripted production to date.

The Long Road Home finally hits home screens on Tuesday, Nov. 7th with a two-hour start to be followed by six one-hour chapters on Tuesdays through Dec. 19th. Filmed entirely in Texas, the true story of one searing day in the Iraq war is adapted from the 2007 book by veteran ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz. And our review is here.

CBS has its third re-do coming on Thursday, Nov. 2nd, when S.W.A.T. joins the network’s existing successful makeovers of Hawaii Five-0 and Macgyver. Our review is here.
