ABC's Lost, HBO's John Adams, youtube and the presidential campaign satire on NBC's Saturday Night Live are among the 36 George Foster Peabody Award recipients announced Wednesday by the University of Georgia.

HBO's Entourage, AMC's Breaking Bad, CNN's non-satiric election coverage and the Onion News Network also will be honored at a May 18th ceremony in New York City hosted by NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams.

This is the 68th year for the Peabodys, of which your friendly content provider is a previous national board member. Peabody director Horace Newcomb said that this year's awards "not only reflect great diversity of content and genre, but also true technical innovation and the varied roles of new distribution systems."
