Former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin segues from one reality competition show to another while ex-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas obviously will be leading with his right foot.
They're among a record 16 celebrities joining Season 9 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, which will start flooring it on Sept. 21st.
The inevitable Donny Osmond, Kelly Osbourne and super-snippy supermodel Joanna Krupa (who tongue-lashed Terrell Owens on ABC's recent The Superstars) also are in this mix. But contrary to earlier rumors, there's no LaToya Jackson. And Paula Abdul isn't a judge yet either.
Irvin recently hosted Spike TV's 4th and Long, which ended with receiver Jesse Holley winning a spot on the Cowboys' training camp roster. Former Cowboys great and fellow "Triplet" Emmitt Smith preceded Irvin on Dancing, winning the competition in Season 3.
DeLay, once the conservative "Hammer" of the Republican Party, is now president of First Principles LLC, a political consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. and Houston.
Here are the rest of the celebrity dancers, with Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson the reigning champ:
Grammy-winning singer Macy Gray
Actress Melissa Joan Hart of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All
Ex-Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue poser Kathy Ireland
Singer/actress Mya
Iron Chef America host Mark Dacascos
Ashley Hamilton, son of former Dancing contestant George
