Long before becoming Snake Plisskin in Escape From New York, little Kurt Russell was a big fan of powerful weaponry.
So was the Mattel Toy Company, especially around Christmas. Russell was the kid behind both the Agent Zero M Radio Rifle Toy and the more lethal Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster, which fired a “massive blast of compressed air.”
Russell demonstrated both of them in 1960s commercials. For Episode 2 of the Countdown, we’ve chosen the Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster. And remember, kids, “You can tell it’s Mattel. It’s swell!”
