Question: What's the latest on Head Case? I hope it's not a goner! And how about No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency?

Answer: HBO is yet to commit to a second season of No. Ladies Detective Agency, which recently won a prestigious Peabody Award. There is a Facebook campaign to save the show, however, and you can add your input here. Betty White will be hosting Saturday Night Live on May 8th, primarily due to a Facebook effort to make it so. So you never know.
Head Case, which had three seasons on Starz, has been canceled.
Question: OK, we're gluttons for punishment and for some reason still watch 'Til Death. While watching recently, I looked at my wife and asked her what was wrong. She replied, "It's just not that funny." At there have been moments when Brad Garrett is funny, but those have been few and far between. They've used three actresses to play the daughter in this season alone. Now Martin Mull is involved, but he's not funny either. When will this show finally be put to death?
Kevin and Tammy Jerpi
Answer: One of the great mysteries in recent TV annals is why Fox kept bring this show back. Did Garrett have incriminating photos of programming executives? But on March 23rd, Fox finally officially killed 'Til Death, which premiered in September 2006. For that matter, the network also has canceled Sons of Tucson, which only lasted a month.
Question: Why was Kim Fischer recently removed from the weekend morning news show on (Fort Worth-based) Channel 5? I felt she was doing a good job, had a sense of humor and was easy on the eyes! What gives?
Big Red
Answer: Ours is not to reason why, particularly when it comes to NBC5 personnel decisions. The station's No. 1-rated early morning team earlier this year lost co-anchor Brendan Higgins for less than crystal clear reasons. Vice president of content development Susan Tully said in a statement that "with Brendan's contract coming to an end, he and the station have agreed that Sunday (Jan. 17th) will be his last day as a member of the NBC D-FW team."
To NBC5's credit, though, Higgins' replacement is the very capable Scott Friedman, a station veteran.
Lindsay Wilcox, who's also easy on the eyes, recently was named NBC's permanent weekend morning anchor. Jane McGarry, co-anchor of the station's 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts, announced that promotion on her Facebook Fanpage. NBC5 later confirmed it without elaboration.
