As noted in a recent post, the long-term survivals of the Big Four broadcast networks likely rest on their continued success with “reality-competition” series.

Exhibit A during this midseason is Fox’s super-cheesy The Masked Singer, which shows no signs of slippage.

Wednesday’s Episode 4, in which Margaret Cho was revealed as The Poodle, led all prime-time programming in both total D-FW viewers (267,113) and with advertiser-craved 18-to-49-year-olds (102,653).

Fox4’s following 9 p.m. local newscast again sopped up the lead-in gravy, dominating the hour in both ratings measurements.

Thursday’s heaviest prime-time hitters were CBS’ 7 p.m. repeat of The Big Bang Theory in total viewers (210,879) and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy among 18-to-49ers (48,307).

Here are the local news derby results.

Wednesday -- Fox4 had a nice day, sweeping the 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. competitions in total viewers and among 25-to-54-year-olds (main advertiser target audience for news programming). The station also won at 5 and 6 p.m. with 25-to-54-year-olds.

NBC5 drew the most total viewers at 5 p.m. and tied CBS11 for the top spot in that measurement at 6 p.m.

Thursday -- TEGNA8 swept the 10 p.m. races, winning in total viewers and with 25-to-54-year-olds.

Fox4 did likewise at 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. The 6 p.m. golds went to TEGNA8 in total viewers and Fox4 among 25-to-54-year-olds.
