Throughout his enduring career, Johnny Mathis, now 81, has never let a rock song cross his lips. And no, I’m not counting his cover of Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender.”
Instead the pride of Gilmer, Texas continues to rock it old school with one of the smoothest voices ever recorded.
Here he is on his 1990 Home For Christmas special, singing “What Child Is This?” to the hilt with a chorale accompaniment. A big finish is guaranteed.
