Local Nielsen ratings snapshot (Wed., Sept. 12) -- AGT for the wins

Nearing the end of its latest summertime ratings romp, NBC’s America’s Got Talent as usual paced Wednesday night in total viewers while also earning a bonus at the expense of CBS’ Big Brother.
AGT’s 263,518 total D-FW viewers easily topped the prime-time field. But instead of losing to Big Brother among advertiser-coveted 18-to-49-year-olds, AGT likewise won in this key demographic, by a score of 71,774 viewers to BB’s 65,533. Both shows aired in the 7 p.m. hour.
From 8 to 9 p.m., Fox’s Masterchef nipped NBC’s competing first half of World of Dance in both ratings measurements. The 9 p.m. golds then went to Fox4’s local newscast in total viewers and hour two of World of Dance among 18-to-49ers.
In late night, Texas U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke’s guest appearance on CBS’ Late Show with Stephen Colbert was good for a nice bounce in the D-FW ratings. Colbert won his time slot in total viewers with 135,320 and ran second among 18-to-year-olds (21,844) behind Fox4’s new Free4All. Colbert warmed up by ridiculing incumbent Ted Cruz in the early going before O’Rourke joined the show after first guest Keira Knightley.
Here are Wednesday’s four-way local news derby results.
Fox4 and NBC5 combined to share all the spoils.
Fox4 won at 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in total viewers and with 25-to-54-year-olds (main advertiser target audience for news programming).
NBC5 swept both the 5 and 6 p.m. competitions.
