Terrance Friday will be working on Saturdays and Sundays as Dallas-based Fox4’s new weekend morning news anchor.

His hiring was announced Wednesday, with Friday scheduled to join the station on Sept. 3rd. He’ll also report three days a week.

“Terrance is a skilled journalist who has been invested in the stories of each community where he has lived and worked. We know he’ll bring that go-getter attitude to Texas,” Fox4 vice president and news director Robin Whitmeyer said in a publicity release.

Friday will arrive from Jackson, Mississippi’s CBS affiliate, WJTV-TV, where he spent the last five years as an anchor and reporter. Before that he worked at TV stations in Lansing, Michigan, Biloxi, Mississippi, Birmingham, Alabama and Greenville, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Jackson’s Tougaloo College, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.

Veteran Fox4 utility player Dan Godwin has been filling in as news anchor on weekend mornings. Friday will be joined on Fox4 by meteorologist Kylie Capps, the station says.
