Now "Y2K Hysteria" looms anew in these inventively spooky '99 '99 '99 ads for investigator Byron Harris' reports on profiteers who hoped to cash in by persuading gullible North Texas earthlings to stockpile gold and non-perishable foods. Harris looks comparatively boyish in these promos. And to this day he's still piling up prestigious Peabody and duPont-Columbia awards.
