Local Nielsen ratings snapshot (Thurs., Dec. 16) -- nothin' but repeats, save for two CBS sitcoms

By ED BARK
Network TV shifted also completely into holiday season repeat mode Thursday, with only CBS breaking the mold in prime-time's opening hour.

The network's new episodes of The Big Bang Theory and $#*! My Dad Says both won their time slots in total D-FW viewers, with TBBT scoring the night's biggest overall audience (339,359). CBS likewise won from 8 to 10 p.m. with reruns of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and The Mentalist.

As usual, though, CSI sagged with advertiser-favored 18-to-49-year-olds, tying Fox's Bones reprise for third place at 8 p.m. in that key demographic while ABC's Grey's Anatomy do-again topped the field. All other CBS programming ran first with 18-to-49-year-olds.

Ratings were not immediately available for Thursday night's finale of CNN's Larry King Live.

In local news derby results, CBS11 won comfortably at 10 p.m. in both total viewers and 25-to-54-year-olds, the preferred advertiser target audience for news programming on most stations.

Fox4 returned to its usual early morning form by sweeping the 6 a.m. competitions. And WFAA8 came up big in the early evenings with across-the-board wins at both 5 and 6 p.m.
