London's opening ceremonies: pip pip (no hooray)

Expected to come up short of 2008's awe-some Beijing spectacular, Friday night's Olympic opening ceremonies accomplished that task -- and then some. Were there really many, if any, time capsule moments? Not from this perspective. Our full review is here after a long night of tweeting.
