History network's Roots re-do stands on its own, but not taller than the landmark original

Nearly 40 years after ABC made ratings history with Roots, the History network presents an eight-hour remake that premieres on Memorial Day and runs through Thursday of next week. Real Housewives of Dallas perked up slightly in the national Nielsen ratings for Episode 4 before high-strung co-star LeeAnne Locken guested on Bravo’s following Watch What Happens Live to talk about the show while “showcasing the girls.”
