Single- or multi-cam? In prime-time comedy, form still very much matters

CBS pretty much swears by “multi-cams” -- and has the comedy hits to back up this strategy. Rival broadcast networks lately are more inclined to “single-cams” -- but only ABC’s Modern Family has delivered big audiences out of this “live studio audience” realm.
