NBC5 trounced its early morning rivals in the just-concluded May "sweeps" while Fox4 made a first-time breakthrough and CBS11 took more baby steps in its battle to be first at 10 p.m. and escape last place at 6 a.m. Meanwhile, WFAA8 remained on top at 10 p.m., but suffered another wave of year-to-year audience losses.
