Uncle Barky returns -- and restarts with a Maria Barrs exit interview

It's great to be back in the blast furnace after two weeks out West on the Television Critics Association "press tour." And as long as we're this close, I say let's go for the *&%#@+*$#&@ record of consecutive 100 degree days.
The big news while I was gone was Fox4 news director Maria Barrs' decision to leave the Dallas-based station after 13 years in that position. I tweeted the news from afar. But we now have an interview with Barrs on where she's going and why. It's on the Dallas-Fort Worth TV page.
Also, George Lopez and his TBS talk show, Lopez Tonight, suddenly will be goners after Thursday's show. The network announced the cancellation Wednesday. We take a closer look on the Network News & Reviews page.
All told, I wrote 26 stories from press tour for locatetv.com. They range from a crazed interview session with Jerry Lewis to a visit to the Playboy mansion to the latest news on two huge Fox shows for the fall, The X Factor and Terra Nova. You can read the complete collection -- or pick and choose -- by going to my section on locatetv.com.
Thanks again for your continued patronage.
